A Practice That Gives Back: Uptown Physicians Group Moving to New Location

Uptown Physicians Group (UPG), which joined forces with Prism Health North Texas (PHNTX) in February 2019, has moved just a few blocks away from its current office to new offices in the same office building that houses PHNTX’ Oak Lawn Center. UPG is scheduled to occupy the new space on October 5, 2020.

Formerly located at 4144 North Central Expressway for 5 years, UPG will occupy 8,000 square feet of newly finished space on the 4th floor at 2801 Lemmon Ave., Suite 400. The new clinic space will provide the more patient rooms than their prior space and will provide patients covered and surface parking with easy access to elevators that arrive directly to the new clinic. Patients will also have on-site access to a pharmacy and laboratory at the new location.

The two highly regarded and well established healthcare organizations joined forces last spring with the goal of continuing their high levels of medical care for patients while offering more comprehensive care and further expanding access to primary and specialty care for those living with HIV, at risk for HIV, or needing high-quality primary care in North Texas.

Patients of UPG will keep their same providers and scope of services in the newly designed clinic space. Surrounded by trees and closer to Uptown, the new UPG space has been redone with beautiful, contemporary decor, modern amenities and soothing waiting areas for their patients. Now that UPG has joined the PHNTX family, it has truly become a practice that gives back with proceeds from the UPG clinic benefiting the community through services and programs offered by PHTNX.

“It feels like we’re going back home, as this clinic is closer to the clinic which UPG started in Uptown in 2005,” said Dr. David Lee, PHTNX Chief Strategy Officer and UPG Provider. “We are extremely excited about the on site Prism Health North Texas Pharmacy, whose profits will be reinvested into patient care. We can’t wait for patients to come see the new space!”

The existing PHNTX Oak Lawn Center, conveniently located on Lemmon Avenue with easy access to US-75, provides personalized sexual wellness care that is welcoming, affirming, private and affordable. New services from other Prism Health North Texas locations will be provided at Oak Lawn Center including PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) health care and STI testing and treatment as well as behavioral health support for patients if requested.

“Thanks to this incredible opportunity, we are able to integrate Uptown Physicians Group, Prism Health North Texas, Prism Health North Texas Pharmacy, and multiple laboratories into a single location, thereby enabling a single site for the full spectrum of primary and specialty healthcare service needs of our patients, said Dr. John Carlo, CEO of PHNTX. “We also are happy to be back into the Uptown neighborhood where our organization has its original roots.”

With the addition of UPG to the building, PHNTX is also opening a new pharmacy and on-site laboratory in partnership with Equitas Health that will be accessible to both UPG and PHNTX healthcare providers. Two different laboratory service providers, LabCorp and Medfusion/Quest, will also have team members onsite so that health insurance narrow networks do not inhibit a patient’s ability to have his or her laboratory testing completed as part of the medical visit.

PHNTX also announces the addition of two new pharmacies to their community services.  They are located in central and south Dallas at 2801 Lemmon Ave #100 and 219 Sunset Avenue.  Complimentary deliveries can be made within a 30-mile radius of the pharmacies.  However, patients from across the state may order prescriptions that will be delivered via United Parcel Service at no charge to the patient.  Those who live within a 30-mile radius may expect deliveries the same day if ordered before 11:30 a.m. Deliveries outside the same day delivery zone will receive their deliveries standard ground shipping times. All deliveries must be scheduled with a confirmed address from the patient or patient representative each and every time the prescription is ordered.
